FAQ

What can I expect?

The six farms that are participating in the farm tour are open for specific timeframes on August 10th. You can drive at your own pace to the farms you would like to visit during their open Tour hours, and when you arrive you’ll see a sign directing you where to park, as well as a Klamath Grown volunteer who can help answer questions.

Every farm is different, but you can expect activities such as picking your own vegetables on the produce farms, petting or feeding animals on the ranches and u-pick flower picking on the flower farm. There will be free kids activities, bottled water, and a restroom available at every location. Also, be sure to bring bug spray! The mosquitos have been bad this year on some of the farms.

Do I need to drive myself to each farm?

Yes! This is a self-led tour, so you are welcome to visit the farms you are interested in within the timeframes that they are open. When you arrive, you will see a Klamath Grown volunteer who can let you know where to go, when the next tour starts, etc.

How long should I plan to spend at each farm?

Depending on the activities you’re interested in, you may want to spend about 15-30 minutes at each farm. Farmers will be on-site to lead brief tours and answer questions about the reality of being a small farmer in the Klamath Basin.

Do I need to bring anything?

We’d recommend wearing close-toed shoes, bug spray, bringing a water bottle, and having cash or card if you’d like to purchase anything from the farms.

Can I bring my dog?

Please DO NOT bring any pets. These are working farms that take care to keep their spaces clean and animals healthy, and some have Livestock Guardian dogs that are protective of their flock.

If you have a Service Animal, please reach out to Delaney to discuss a plan: delaney@klamathgrown.org.
Does it cost money?

This event is free thanks to the support of the host farms and an Economic Development grant from Klamath County.

There will be items for sale from some vendors or farms, and Klamath Grown accepts donations if you’d like to support the coordination of this event. Otherwise, visiting all of the farms and ranches is free.

Will there be food and drinks available?

All farm stops will have free bottled water and some will have small snacks or samples to enjoy.

Will there be restrooms available?

Yes, all of the farms will have a bathroom and hand washing station.

Are the farms stroller- and wheelchair-accessible?

All parking areas and welcome tables will be accessible with wheeled devices, but every site has at least some uneven ground. You may not be able to follow the full farm tour at some farm sites.

Please reach out to Delaney if you have specific questions or accessibility requests: delaney@klamathgrown.org

I can’t make it on August 10! Can I stop by the farms on another day?

These farm tour stops are all private residences and businesses, and they are generally NOT open to the public. Please respect their space and do not drop by outside of the designated hours.

If you’re not available on the day of the 2025 Small Farm Tour, you may be able to arrange an appointment directly with individual farms, or mark your calendar for next year’s Small Farm Tour!
